Hinjewadi IT Park is one of Pune's largest employment hubs, and most people working there don't actually live inside Hinjewadi itself — a handful of surrounding localities each offer a different trade-off between commute time, rent and lifestyle.

Wakad

Probably the most common choice for Hinjewadi employees — close enough for a short commute on most days, with a large supply of PGs and flats in Wakad across a wide budget range. Wakad has grown fast, so expect more construction and traffic than some neighbouring areas, but it's hard to beat for sheer convenience and choice.

Baner

A bit further from Hinjewadi than Wakad but generally considered more established, with better restaurants, gyms and social infrastructure. Rent in Baner tends to run higher here — it suits people who want a slightly longer commute in exchange for a more finished, lively neighbourhood.
